Skydiving

Connor LoVeS skydiving so he arranged to go for his third time.  He'd like to get certified to be able to do it alone.

Never say never

Kelleigh's milestone day wasn't quite complete with a nose piercing ... she also had a tattoo on her mind.  So she drug me and Grammy along with her.  Who would have believed I'd ever step foot into a tattoo place?!  Well, after much begging she talked me into getting a matching tattoo.  But it didn't stop there!  Grammy commented that if she ever had one done, it would be Papa's initial on her ring finger.  Didn't take much for Kell to convince her now was her chance!

 

Kelleigh's 18th birthday

Hard to believe our baby girl is already 18.  We're celebrating her birthday over the weekend but keep scrolling to see how she marked off this milestone day ...

Settling in

Connor is settling in and enjoying not having to get up at 4:30am.  Each one got a box of goodies from an organization that supports the Marines.  He's busy planning what he will do each day of his leave as the time is sure to go quickly.

Connor's Graduation Ceremony

It was an impressive ceremony and he's officially a Marine!  After he gathered his belongings to begin his ten-day leave, the kids all went off to lunch and the adults went to theirs.  He was very excited to have a burger even though it wasn't from In-n-Out!

Family Day at the MCRD San Diego

Today is the first day we will see Connor since he left home 13 weeks ago.  We are so very proud of him and can't wait to see all the changes and hear the stories.  Kenny and Debbie came down to share the special weekend with us.

Each platoon does a motivational run and it's the first time you get a chance to see your guy.  The guys go shower while the families are briefed on what services are provided, etc.  Following that, each platoon marches in and are dismissed to spend a few hours on base with their family.

July 4th

This year Kelleigh insisted we all have flag swimsuits and we succeeded.  I'll spare you the picture of the older folks and share Kell and her boyfriend, Darius.
