Josh & Sara's wedding
On May 21, 2016, Josh and Sara exchanged vows in a beautiful barn-wedding setting. Despite a rainy week and thunderstorm at the time of the wedding, they waited it out and the rest of the evening was perfect. It was great to see family and friends. They had a marvelous week on their Alaskan honeymoon.

Visiting the Biltmore Estate
Crystol and I had the chance to tour the Biltmore Estate while in NC and enjoyed a beautiful, sunny day. The estate was incredible and our lunch and wine tour/tasting amazing! (Sadly the pictures didn't come out so great.)

RBHS Prom 2016
Prom this year was a huge success and Kelleigh had a marvelous time despite being so sick from a cold. We took pictures at Poway Park then they enjoyed dinner at Capri Blu before heading to the prom. She looked stunning ...

Garden progress
While slow, we are making progress! I had to replant the onions and lettuce so may end up with double the crop. The asparagus are the most interesting to watch as they are different day-to-day.

Mother's Day
What a lovely Mother's Day weekend. I always think back on the Mother's Day Sundays I would sit in church so sad to have no children of my own. All the years of infertility treatment and surgeries while watching other women have child after child. The greatest moments of my life were when my children were born and the unselfishness which their birthmothers showed in allowing me to be their mother. I miss having them all small and look back on that time in my life and the joy it brought me. Time has gone by so quickly and I'm proud of the young adults they are becoming.
Ryan came down and on Saturday we went bowling as a family. I always recall the times Dad would let my sister and I come with him on Tuesday nights to his league games; we thought we were so grown up to be among all the adults! I was happy the venue was empty as we put on quite a display of awfulness! Ryan did well but Kelleigh and I have LoTs of room for improvement. It was fun nonetheless! Sunday Mark made delicious lemon-raspberry muffins and our favorite Cal Beef Tenderloin for lunch. Despite the gloomy weather it was nice to be together.

It's Friday ...
... and on Fridays Chloe "drives" Kelleigh to school (a tradition Mark has done with the kids for a few years)! She dons her hoodie and heads for the car. Usually she is busy watching for them to come out of Coffee Bean but today the rain lulled her to sleep!

New bird family
So excited that a new bird family is moving into my hanging plant! It's hard to capture them as they fly away by the time I get my camera but this red-breasted one was going in and out of the nest all day. Definitely my favorite part of spring! I replanted parts of my garden as things aren't coming up :(
